  Legal Counsel – Freight Forwarding & Logistics | Mumbai | Neg - AED

  We are looking for a sharp, commercially focused Legal Counsel to join a fast-paced freight forwarding and logistics company based in Mumbai. This role is ideal for a legal professional who understands business realities, manages risk with clarity, and can support international logistics operations with practical, solution-oriented advice. The successful candidate will draft, review, and negotiate commercial and logistics agreements, including customer contracts, freight forwarding terms, vendor and carrier agreements, agency agreements, warehousing arrangements, NDAs, MOUs, JV agreements, terminal service agreements, and multimodal transport contracts. The role will also involve advising business and operations teams on cargo claims, customs documentation, contractual liability, insurance, demurrage and detention matters, sanctions, trade compliance, and other legal risks connected with cross-border movement of goods. You will support corporate governance and company secretarial matters, coordinate with external counsel, insurers, regulators, port authorities, agents, and business partners, and help strengthen legal processes, templates, and contract controls. Applicants must hold an LLB, with an LLM or specialization in maritime, commercial, international trade, or transport law preferred. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years of relevant legal experience in logistics, shipping, maritime, transport, or an in-house commercial legal role, with strong drafting, negotiation, research, communication, and stakeholder management skills.  CV's shariq@moveupconsultancy.com
